Charlestown celebrates its roots each year in June. Founders Day is committed to honoring its namesake, Charles Beggs, a surveyor who helped designate the 3 acres that became the town square in 1808. The celebration typically includes local entertainers on Thursday evening, an opening ceremony on Friday afternoon followed by a concert, a 5K walk/run on Saturday, a Parade, Arts & Crafts Booths, Fireworks, and much, much more. The event is made possible through the generous support of local sponsors.

Founders Day, 2016, will be celebrated Thursday, 6/23 through Saturday, 6/25. This years celebration is the 16th consecutive festival, and is an All-American Weekend. It will be taking place at the Charlestown Family Activities Park.

It will feature Nationally recognized, CMA Award Winning, recording artist LITTLE TEXAS BAND! Regional favorite Mad Taxpayers will also be playing. In addition to all of the activities available at the Family Activities Park, Founders Day will feature a 36 tall, 95 long Blue Crush Water Slide.
